Spanish Survival Guide

This is the version of Survival Guide published in Mexico by Trillas, the emminent text book publisher in this country. It’s a truly lovely little book, beautifully designed and beautifully printed on exquisitely fine paper. Unfortunately, in a fit of prudery most uncharacteristic of Mexico, Trillas decided not to include the section on dirty/swear words and expressions, thus effectively amputating what gives Spanish a great deal of its meaning and feeling . . . castrating it you could say.  As you might suspect, sales have been anemic, which might also have something to do with the fact that Mexicans don’t need to be instructed on how to use their own gutter language.
